Happenings 2

Hi all!

I had a few minutes to spare today, so I thought I would post a quick update on some things happening at the moment.

Last week I was informed that I've been nominated for the Association of Country Music in Alberta's Musician of the Year Award! What an honour it is to be included among such talented players from around the province. I didn't know that they thought drummers were musicians! (insert drum roll joke thing here) In all seriousness, if you have a moment head over to the ACMA website and have a look at the nominees for all of the categories! You can vote if you're already an ACMA member, and if you're not, you can sign up with a fan membership for $10! There are some benefits including voting for the Fan's Choice and purchasing tickets to events in advance!

Next week I'm playing a five night run (is this the nineties?) with an award winning blues artist from London, Ontario named Bill Durst. I haven't been as excited about a gig as I am now in a long time! Talk about some heavy riffs, Bill's music is guaranteed to get you moving, so if you're in Edmonton next week, stop by Blues on Whyte! You can check out the dates here!

I've also posted a new video on my Video page! This past weekend I was in Fort McMurray with Hey Romeo and threw a camera up for fun. "Sin Wagon" by the Dixie Chicks is one of my favourite songs of Hey Romeo's set (besides all of their original material) to play because of it's fast tempo and high energy. Not to mention it's a real workout on the old train beat chops. It was also the first chance I had to take my new (to me) Yamaha JR Robinson Signature snare out on the road! You can watch the video here or visit my YouTube channel here for more videos!
